When photographer and John Peel Centre volunteer, Tony Bell, suggested interviewing the guests who appear at the Centre we thought it was such a good idea that he should do it! He kicked off the series talking to fellow Dubliner, Kal Lavelle and we haven't been able to stop him talking since!

Saiichi started by interviewing me about the John Peel Centre and our plans. Dangerous because I could talk for a long time about this project and its potential. However we eventually got to talk about Saiichi, one of the UK’s best known blue guitarists.
Sitting at a table amongst the audience in the John Peel Centre was a noisy but strangely intimate place to conduct an interview with rock-folk singer songwriter Antonio Lulic who kindly agreed to talk to us before he went on stage at the John Peel Centre.
Back Porch opened the blues evening at the John Peel centre getting the crowd warmed up for the Saiichi Sugiyama Band. It was a bitterly cold February evening, washboard player Mike Rushmore’s fingers were so cold that those in the front row were warned to beware of flying thimbles.
By the time we sat down to chat to Ryan the noise level in the room had gone up and the clock was ticking towards curtain-up, well it would have been if we had a curtain!
But before we started there was the small matter of the running order to sort amongst our three guests.
For the first in our "Talking To..." series we thought we'd make it easy on both interviewer and interviewee by having two people who speak the same language talk to each other!
We sat Irish singer / songwriter Kal Lavelle down with Irish photographer Tony Bell and they talked about Tayto crisps, Galtee cheese and home !
