Why we are Fundraising
We have received significant grant funding and thank our funders for everything they are doing. The vast majority of the money that we have raised so far has been for specific things and as such is ring-fenced for those items alone.
To create a truly world class venue worthy of our name we need to raise funds for some basic items which you might take for granted – chairs, for example!
The John Peel Centre for Creative Arts is a high profile venue and we think there are a number of benefits to organisations and individuals who wish to involved.
People looking for a way to contribute to John Peel’s legacy can have something physical and lasting to contribute towards.
Local people wanting a space to practice or perform... or to come and enjoy other people perform can get involved.
Businesses looking to support an exciting community project can have something to invest in.
We are seeking sponsors for individual elements in the building. From chairs at £100 each, windows at £2,500 each, to the exciting glass box that will introduce the mezzanine. There is something for everyone to contribute towards from individuals to local charities to corporate sponsors...
The glazed canopy over the entrance doors is one of the most immediately visible parts of the building, seen by visitors and passers by alike.
The new canopy will cost around £3,000. For this you will get your name and / or company logo displayed within the building and will be permanently recognised for your contribution to our success.

The performance lighting provides a perfect opportunity for a specialist supplier to get their brand into a high profile new venue.
We would like individuals or corporate sponsors to contribute up to £20,000 for top grade performance lighting. For this you will get your name and / or company logo displayed within the building and will be permanently recognised for your contribution to our success.

The lighting gantry is another element that is essential if we are going to fulfil our role as a top class performance venue.
The gantry will be a feature element in its own right. We would like individuals or corporate sponsors to contribute £9,000 for provide a top quality gantry. For this you will get your name and / or company logo displayed within the building and will be permanently recognised for your contribution to our success.

The stairs will be one of the most used parts of the building. They will lead up to the mezzanine floor with kitchen, cafe and bar, as well as an elevated view of the performance space. The staircase will be folded steel plate including mid flight landing and hardwood handrails both sides, boarding, treads & risers and insulation.
We would like individuals or corporate sponsors to contribute £9,000 for the staircase. For this you will get your name and / or company logo displayed within the building and will be permanently recognised for your contribution to our success.

The stage is intrinsic to our success. It’s what makes our performers visible. We are looking for demountable staging so that we can be flexible when we have exhibitions or want to turn the performance space around.

The stage curtains are an essential part of finishing off the venue. They will be a very visible within the building and could be traditional or could be something new and different. The lift is an essential part of ensuring we are an accessible venue. The only way we can create extra space in the venue is through the provision of a mezzanine floor, but this creates its own problems. The lift will have its own design interest and would make a great single item for a major sponsor to take on.
We would like individuals or corporate sponsors to contribute £17,000 for the lift. For this you will get your name and / or company logo displayed within the building and will be permanently recognised for your contribution to our success.

The glass box is perhaps the most exciting single element within the new work that we are undertaking to create a world class venue right here in Stowmarket.
The picture show the prominence of this item but don’t quite do justice to how amazing it will look when installed. In order to create something truly special we need to be creative and this is one of the architectural elements that we hope will inspire creativity within users of the building.
The glass box will cost £25,000.
We need 150 robust, stackable (but comfortable!) chairs for performances. And they aren’t as cheap as we hoped!
We are providing an opportunity for individuals or businesses to sponsor a chair. For £100 you can sponsor a chair and help provide a lasting contribution to the success of the centre. You will also have your name recognised within the building so you will be able to come back for years to come and remember the contribution that you have made.

One of the most beautiful things about the building is the light, which is provided by the full height windows along both side elevations. They are one of the most striking parts of the existing building but their replacement is going to be expensive. We need windows that have good thermal insulation to keep us green, good sound insulation to keep us friends with our neighbours and good acoustic properties so that performances sound the very best they can for our audiences.
